TOKYO -- The Malaysian ringgit climbed to its strongest against the dollar since April 2023 in Tokyo trading on Monday, supported by a solid economy, as weak U.S. economic data spurred selling of the greenback.

The Southeast Asian country's currency at one point appreciated to the low 4.39 level against the dollar.
