TOKYO -- The Japanese yen sank to the lower 147 range against the dollar on Thursday, its lowest point in a month, after Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba's comments that the country is not ready for more interest rate increases.
The yen was also weighed down by stronger-than-expected September U.S. private-sector employment data.
