TOKYO -- BlackRock has lowered its outlook for Japanese stocks from overweight to neutral, its first downgrade since September, in line with the U.S. asset management company's cautious stance on stocks globally.

The shift was revealed in a weekly report dated Monday. The outlook period, previously six months to one year, was shortened to three months due to "historically" high uncertainty in the investment environment.
