TOKYO -- Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) will have a bank veteran with extensive experience on the front line of fund management as its new chief next month.

Former Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Director Kazuto Uchida will assume the top post at GPIF on April 1.
