SoftBank inks $90bn fund with Saudi Arabia to invest in AI

Masayoshi Son hits a critical juncture yet again in his grand plan for the future

TOKYO -- SoftBank Group has launched a 10 trillion yen ($89.9 billion) investment fund jointly with the Saudi Arabian government and other entities in a bid to change the landscape of the global high-tech industry and capitalize on its future.

The fund will invest in promising venture businesses across the world to create an extensive network of companies that will lead their fields and create opportunity.
