Tokyo Stock Exchange to extend trading hours from Nov. 5

Bourse to add 30 minutes in the afternoon to boost 'diversifying needs'

TOKYO -- The Tokyo Stock Exchange is set to extend its trading sessions by half an hour effective Nov. 5 in response to investor demand, according to the bourse. 

The current trading hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an hourlong lunch break from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Next week's change will extend the closing time to 3:30 p.m., the TSE said.
