Malaysian retailer Eco-Shop rises over 10% in market debut after $91m IPO

Company aims to set up new stores, warehouse, as it competes with MR.DIY, 99 Speedmart

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia's leading fixed-price retail chain Eco-Shop debuted on Bursa Malaysia on Friday at 1.25 ringgit per share, up 10.6% from its initial public offering price.

The retailer sold 347 million new shares at 1.13 ringgit per share through the IPO deal, allowing the company to raise 392.1 million ringgit ($91.6 million). The company's market capitalization at the IPO price was at 6.49 billion ringgit. Its price-to-earnings ratio was 36 times based on the profit of 177.3 million ringgit in 2024.
