BANGKOK -- The founder of Thailand's leading cryptocurrency exchange says its anticipated initial public offering would fuel simultaneous expansions into Southeast Asia's developing nations, with the goal of creating a regional champion to compete with the likes of Coinbase and Binance.

Bitkub Capital Group would direct proceeds from an IPO of its Bitkub Online exchange, set for the end of 2025, to stake a claim in the region's untapped markets where regulators are still developing frameworks for digital assets -- namely Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.
