JAKARTA -- Financial analysts expect the turmoil that has roiled global markets in recent days to be particularly volatile in Indonesia on Tuesday when trading resumes for the first time since U.S. President Donald Trump imposed his reciprocal tariffs last week.

Jakarta's markets have been closed for seven consecutive trading days due to a prolonged string of holidays to mark the end of Ramadan and a Hindu holy day.
