Asian stocks advance as Fed cuts rate to mitigate virus impact

Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix , Bank of East Asia gain

HONG KONG (Nikkei Markets) -- Asian shares outside of Japan rose Wednesday after the U.S. Federal Reserve delivered a 50-basis-points rate cut to mitigate the economic impact of the novel coronavirus.

The Nikkei Asia300 index of companies outside Japan advanced 1.1% to 1,306.59.
