Asian stocks fall as investors analyze government measures to contain virus impact

Samsung Electronics, CNOOC, PetroChina drag down A300 index

HONG KONG (Nikkei Markets) -- Asian shares outside of Japan declined Wednesday amid uncertainty over the efficacy of government and central bank measures to arrest the coronavirus-triggered economic slowdown.

The Nikkei Asia300 index of companies outside Japan fell 3.9% to 1,040.42.
