Coronavirus worries drag Hong Kong shares lower

HSBC drops after reporting narrower profit and announcing job cuts

HONG KONG (Nikkei Markets) -- Hong Kong shares fell on Tuesday as investors assessed the economic impact of the new coronavirus that has gripped the mainland for more than two months.

The Hang Seng Index fell 1.5% to 27,530.20 after rising 0.5% on Monday. Forty-eight of the gauge's 50 constituents declined on Tuesday.
