HONG KONG (Nikkei Markets) -- Hong Kong stocks recovered from near three-week lows to end higher on Thursday, with Chinese financial heavyweights underpinning gains, tracking resilient mainland markets.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.3% to 26,778.62, after falling as low as 26,419.97 earlier in the day. China Construction Bank gained 1.9% and Industrial & Commercial Bank of China advanced 2.3%, while China Life Insurance added 1.1%. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index of large mainland companies listed in Hong Kong increased 0.9%.
