KUALA LUMPUR (Sep 25) -- SMRT Corporation and Prasarana Malaysia signed a pact Monday to form a joint venture company to operate the Rapid Transit System Link connecting Johor Bahru and Singapore.
The joint venture will design, build, finance, operate, and maintain the four-kilometer link's assets including the train and tracks, according to statements from the two countries' largest rail companies.
The rapid transit project is expected to start ferrying passengers between the two cities by Dec 31, 2024, the statements said.
