KUALA LUMPUR (Nikkei Markets) -- Singapore and Malaysia shares rose Friday along with other major markets in Asia as investors cheered strong earnings of major U.S. technology companies and easing geopolitical tension in the Korean peninsula buoyed sentiment.
The Straits Times Index climbed 0.2% to close at 3577.21, while the FBM KLCI ended 0.6% higher at 1863.47. In Singapore, real estate and consumer-linked stocks rose, while telecommunication and banking stocks gained in its neighboring market.
