SINGAPORE (Jun 30) -- Wilmar International, Singapore's palm oil giant, said Friday it has entered into a conditional joint venture agreement with Japan-based Lion Corporation for plant-based surfactant business.
"The joint venture company will be established in Singapore and funded 50% by Lion and 50% by the Wilmar Group," it said in a stock exchange filing.
The joint venture company will acquire Wilmar's existing methyl ester sulfonate manufacturing facilities in Indonesia and Lion Corp's Malaysian unit, Lion Eco Chemicals, it added.
