Malaysia manufacturing PMI stays weak in January

TOKYO -- Malaysia’s manufacturing economy showed continued downturn in January, with operating conditions deteriorating for the fourth month.

The Nikkei Malaysia Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index, or PMI, increased from 47.9 in January from December's 46.8. Readings above 50 indicates an expansion while those below 50 indicates a contraction.
