Singapore's SC Capital to build Osaka data centers for $660m

Real estate investor looks to capture Japanese demand for backup sites

TOKYO -- Singaporean property investor SC Capital Partners plans to build two data centers in Osaka for an estimated 100 billion yen ($660 million), Nikkei has learned, with the first slated to open in 2027.

SC Capital will lease the data centers to corporate clients and eventually sell them. After the sale, the fund could operate the properties for a fee.
