TOKYO -- South Korea's top financial regulator Financial Services Commission (FSC) has not ruled out the possibility of extending a ban on stock short-selling, pending improvements in the market, its chairman said on Thursday.

The financial regulator re-imposed the ban from Monday until the end of June, saying it is intended to "level the titled playing field" between institutional and retail investors.
