Japan stock market to see 23 IPOs in December

Year-end rush pushes monthly count to three-year high

TOKYO -- Twenty-three companies are planning initial public offerings in December in the stock market here, the highest number for the month in three years amid brisk trading of startup shares.

The monthly count represents an increase of nine on the year and the highest since December 2014, when the number was 28. Many companies, encouraged by a sustained vigor in the startup market, are making the move now.
