Nikkei stock indexes set for reshuffle in its annual review

TOKYO -- Nikkei Inc. announced Tuesday it will change one constituent stock of the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average as part of its annual review.

Nippon Soda will be replaced by Rakuten. The changes will take effect Oct. 3.

Rakuten will be added due to market liquidity. Nippon Soda will be removed to adjust the number of issues among sectors. The presumed par value is 50 yen for Rakuten.

In addition, two constituents of the Nikkei Stock Index 300 will be reshuffled as a result of exclusion and addition associated with business integration, and an annual review.  Joyo Bank will be replaced by Ashikaga Holdings effective September 28. Topy Industries will be replaced Recruit Holdings effective Oct. 3.
