Presumed par values to change on 13 components of Nikkei 225

TOKYO -- Nikkei Inc. on Tuesday announced it will change the presumed par values of 13 constituent stocks of the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, in response to companies' stock consolidation plans.

The presumed par values will change from 50 yen to 100 yen for Nichirei, Odakyu Electric Railway and Keisei Electric Railway; from 50 yen to 250 yen for Teijin, Japan Steel Works, Ebara and Screen Holdings; and from 50 yen to 500 yen for Nippon Sheet Glass, Kobe Steel, Mitsubishi Materials, Furukawa Electric, Oki Electric Industry and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings.

The changes will take effect on Sept. 28.
