Tokyo IPOs outperforming offer prices

TOKYO -- Thirty of the 33 companies going public here in the April-September half opened above their offer prices, indicating a healthy enthusiasm for new issues.

G-Factory, which supports eatery operators opening or closing locations, debuted on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Mothers market Friday. Buy orders poured in after the opening bell rang at 9 a.m. The initial price, established at around 10:46 a.m., came to 5,000 yen ($49.36) per share -- 54% above the offer price of 3,240 yen.
