TOKYO -- Japan's Daiwa Securities Group will take a 50% stake in an aircraft leasing company, Nikkei has learned, in a bid to offer wealth management clients an alternative asset tied to a growing sector.

Daiwa's investment in Airborne Capital Japan, a unit of Ireland-based Airborne Capital, is expected to be in the hundreds of millions of yen (100 million yen equals $647,000) and be completed as early as January.
