TOKYO -- JFE Steel will establish a joint venture in India to produce a material used in electrical power infrastructure, Japan's second largest steelmaker said on Monday, in a bid to capture growth in the world's most populous country.

Production equipment for grain-oriented electrical steel sheet will be installed at a steelworks of JFE affiliate JSW Steel, with full operations slated to start by fiscal 2027.
