Mazda's China sales rose 37.2% in June

GUANGZHOU, China -- Mazda Motor sold 15,238 new vehicles in China last month, up 37.2% on the year, thanks to a strong performance by this year's models.

The newest generation of the Mazda3 and Mazda6, both released in May equipped with its proprietary Skyactiv eco-friendly technology, were well-received.

By the end of July, Mazda will release a new locally manufactured SUV, which continues to be a popular type of car in the country.

The company's January-June cumulative sales volume rose 19.8% to 98,852 cars. It hopes to sell 220,000 vehicles in China this year, up 17.8% from last year's tally.
