NEW YORK -- Chinese rapper 3Bangz walked into a hotel in the city of Wuxi while recording on his phone. Some of his fans were waiting to see him in the lobby.

"Let me show you what it's like to audition for 'The Rap of China," he said in a video posted to social media earlier this week. 3Bangz was instructed to sign in at a table before the show staff handed him a bottle of water, a cup and a tube.
