GUANGZHOU -- Chinese video game makers are eyeing growth overseas, developing titles targeted at other countries as well as localized versions of Chinese games, as they are hampered at home by strict regulations and heavy app store fees.
At the Tokyo Game Show in September, Strinova, a PC title from studio iDreamSky, was the focus of attention. The third-person shooter features anime-style characters that can switch from 3D to 2D, sticking to walls to dodge bullets. The line at the company's booth to try out the game stretched for two hours at one point.
