SHANGHAI -- A trend of decorating bags with goods depicting ones's favorite idol and anime character as well as carrying stuffed toys in transparent pouches is catching on among Chinese youth.

Consumption of anime and game character merchandize is growing as makers are cashing in on the consumer sentiment that they want to be with their favorite idols and characters all the time.
