TOKYO -- Hisashi Hieda, the 87-year-old director who reigned over Japan's Fuji Media Holdings for close to 40 years, will step down as executive managing adviser, the company announced on Thursday, as the scandal-ridden company scrambles to regain trust and reclaim a reputation scarred by a widely reported sex scandal.
The company also said its president, Osamu Kanemitsu, will become chairman without the right of representation.
