TOKYO -- Japanese film studio Toho's booming anime business has propelled its shares to a roughly 50% gain over the past year, with earnings from hit animated movies going into mergers and acquisitions to further expand capacity as well as its intellectual property portfolio.
"Godzilla has finally awakened," some are commenting, referring to the giant film monster that is one of the studio's most famous creations.
