Idol fandom keeps Japan's Tower Records humming

Legendary music store adapts and thrives in the streaming era

TOKYO -- Fans of South Korean idol group Twice arrived at Tower Records' flagship store in Tokyo's Shibuya district to snap phone pics of the poster-sized photos of their favorites featured inside the shop.

Though the customers also rifled through CDs and other goods associated with Twice, the scene that late December day seemed like something more out of a live concert than a music store.
