TOKYO -- Aeon Entertainment, a movie theater operator in Japan, is expanding into Vietnam with plans to open its first cinema in the country this year and invest 20 billion yen to 30 billion yen ($134 million to $200 million) by 2035.
As Japan's market matures and leaves little space for more theaters, the Aeon group subsidiary is looking overseas to a country where it has strength as a distributor of Japanese anime movies.
