TOKYO -- Nintendo on Tuesday posted a net profit of 237.1 billion yen ($1.5 billion) for the nine months to December, down 41.9% from a year earlier. The results follow the gaming giant's recent announcement that it will launch its next console, the Nintendo Switch 2, this year.
The Kyoto-based company cut its full-year net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March to 270 billion yen from the previous forecast at 300 billion. Nintendo has revised its forecast for annual sales of its current Nintendo Switch console from 12.5 million units to 11 million units.
