TOKYO -- Nintendo on Thursday unveiled a short video showing its next-generation console, named Nintendo Switch 2, and announced plans to launch it in 2025.

The Kyoto-based company gave no further details, such as the price and release date, but said it will hold an online presentation on April 2 to reveal more information. It also will hold trial sessions April 4-6 in Paris and New York, where consumers can play the new console.
