OSAKA -- Nintendo is partnering with U.S. studio Illumination to release a new movie based on the popular Super Mario video game, the Japanese gaming titan announced Sunday, with company fellow Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri serving as co-producers.
The venture marks the second co-production between Nintendo and Illumination, following the release of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" in April 2023.
