MANILA -- Major Philippine broadcaster ABS-CBN said it will close its cable news channel, TeleRadyo, in the latest high-profile fallout from a media crackdown by former President Rodrigo Duterte.

TeleRadyo currently broadcasts in Tagalog via cable television and online. Its breaking news service has been an important source of information for many in a country that is prone to natural disasters such as typhoons.
