TOKYO -- When it comes to reaching fans of competitive video gaming, Sony Group has more than one angle on the action.

Over the past two years, the Japanese electronics and entertainment group has made a push into esports -- whose audiences can rival those of athletic events and concerts, with its PlayStation system, hardware for personal computers and smartphones, and tournaments.
