JAKARTA -- The Pokemon Company plans to further localize its monsters, games and products in Indonesia to expand its penetration in Southeast Asia's largest economy, executives from the business said at the end of a four-stop tour that attracted tens of thousands of fans.
Mana Wakiyama, a Pokemon Company representative, told Nikkei Asia that the popularity of characters such as Pikachu in Indonesia was much lower than it should be considering the nation has "such a big population and developing economy."
