TOKYO -- Sony Group on Wednesday raised its full-year profit forecast as its April-June net profit grew 6.5% on the year, boosted by gains in its entertainment business including games and music, even as the company's president expressed concern over the direction of the U.S. economy.

The Japanese company said it now expects net profit to reach 980 billion yen ($6.7 billion) for the fiscal year ending in March 2025, up from the previous forecast of 925 billion yen.
