TOKYO -- Sony has lifted its net profit forecast by 10% to a record high of 1 trillion yen ($6.4 billion) for the year through March 2025.
On Thursday, the Japanese group said the strength of its gaming business as well as reduced tax costs were driving improved profitability. The company now expects operating profit for the year through March 2025 to rise by 2% more than predicted in November to 1.33 trillion yen. That result would be around 10% higher than the 1.2 trillion yen announced for the previous fiscal year.
