CHIBA, Japan -- The Tokyo Game Show kicked off Thursday with a record number of exhibitors and booths, with companies around the world excited to showcase their games and extend their reach. More than half of this year's exhibitors are from overseas.
"The fact that many companies from overseas are also exhibiting at this event shows the growing interest in the Japanese game industry, and its potential to spread to the world," said Haruhiro Tsujimoto, chairman of event organizer Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association.
