SILICON VALLEY -- Tesla Motors plans to add buses and trucks to its electric vehicle offerings in the coming years, launching an audacious bid to join the ranks of full-lineup automakers.
This forms part of the U.S. carmaker's new 10-year master plan announced by CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday. He indicated urban-transport buses and heavy-duty trucks, both in the early stages of development, "should be ready for unveiling next year." A pickup truck and a compact sport utility vehicle will also be developed.
