OSAKA -- Nintendo plans to launch a paid online gameplay service tied to the new Switch console next year.
The Japanese video game company released details Friday, saying that online players in the country will be able to choose between a one-month subscription that costs 300 yen ($2.72) and a one-year deal that costs 200 yen per month. Subscribers will be able to play classic games from the original Nintendo Entertainment System, which debuted in 1983, using the Switch console.
