Japan minister denies French counterpart's Renault-Nissan 'governance' claim

Seko insists he said issue should be discussed 'between the companies'

TOKYO -- Hiroshige Seko, Japan's minister of economy, trade and industry on Tuesday rebutted comments made by French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire regarding supposed promises in relation to the Renault-Nissan alliance.

"There is no way that we would make a promise over governance with another country," Seko said at a news conference following a Cabinet meeting.
