Jean Ghulam, a graduate of the University of Hong Kong, joined Sojitz for the opportunity to work in a nonfinancial sector.

TOKYO -- Japanese ability is not a prerequisite for foreign graduates to get jobs at Sojitz.

Jean Ghulam, a 26-year-old sales representative at the specialty chemicals division, joined Sojitz in 2013. The University of Hong Kong graduate is mainly tasked with exporting chemical raw materials. She flies all over Asia, the U.S. and to other countries, making full use of her English and Chinese ability.
