Nomura Real Estate to sell condos in Bangkok

Effort to expand housing sales, rentals in up-and-coming Southeast Asian markets

TOKYO -- Nomura Real Estate Holdings is entering the business of condominium sales in Thailand, anticipating stronger housing demand in Southeast Asia accompanying economic growth.

Partnering with local real estate giant Origin Property, the Tokyo-based company will begin building and selling more than 2,000 units in three high-rise condominium properties at the center of Bangkok in mid-September. A variety of designs will be offered, including units for singles and units for dual-income households with no children. The first of the condos are expected to be delivered in the 2020-21 period.
