TOKYO -- The Japanese government plans to expand support for new prescription drug prices in a bid to create a more welcoming market for international pharmaceutical startups, Nikkei has learned.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare is set to unveil the proposed changes to national drug pricing policy for fiscal 2024 at an advisory meeting on Wednesday.
