OSAKA -- Activist investor Oasis Management has called on Kobayashi Pharmaceutical to file a lawsuit against seven people, including current and former executives of the Japanese drugmaker, Nikkei has learned.

The suit would seek over 10 billion yen ($67 million) to redress the damages caused by a scandal concerning a red yeast supplement linked to scores of deaths. Kobayashi Pharma booked extraordinary losses exceeding 10 billion yen relating to the scandal between January and September.
