Takeda to give foreign directors two-thirds majority on board

Former U.S. EXIM Bank chief and veteran biotech exec nominated for seats

Leading Japanese drugmaker Takeda Pharmaceutical will field a board of directors that features a clear majority of foreign nationals.

TOKYO -- Top Japanese drugmaker Takeda Pharmaceutical has nominated two more foreign nationals as directors, paving the way for non-Japanese officers to hold a two-thirds majority on its board.

Kimberly Reed and John Maraganore,both American citizens, are candidates for outside director seats. The new slate of directors will face a vote at the company's upcoming shareholders' meeting.
